Since officially announcing that we are officially owners of Garden in the Pines, a new floral design business serving local NJ events, we have received nothing but an outpouring of love and support from all of our friends and family (and strangers, too). Can I tell you how wonderful of a feeling that is? I had butterflies in my stomach and my heart in my throat as I was typing my little message to my friends and family- hoping not to be ridiculed or belittled. Growing flowers for a living? Playing with flowers? What kind of job is that?
Well, it’s my dream job.
I hope to one day grow this brand to be more than just small bouquets that put a smile on people’s faces. I hope to eventually have enough growing space to have fields and fields of dahlias, and daisies, and lilies, and tulips, and peonies, and cosmos, and every single flower and foliage that I continue to fall in love with. To have a space where people can gather and make their own arrangements, to say their vows in front of their loved ones, and to photograph the love that these flowers can create.
But for now, I will happily craft every little bouquet in my kitchen. I will happily start mini seeds by our front door on a little heat mat under some grow lights. I will happily do my best to spread joy through flowers. Happily trying my best to show my daughter that she can succeed in this life by fueling her fire, feeling everything she can, and to try to do better for the world.
And, I hope that you come along with me on this journey.
Thank you for making me feel so blessed and loved. Thank you for supporting this small, Jersey Shore business. And thank you for helping to put smiles on the faces of the people you love. It makes me smile, too.
